Before you decide to buy a Point of Sale System it is best to establish what your needs and demands require. The following list is not conclusive but will prepare you to speak to a software provider.

  • How Many Terminals will I need?
This should be based on three major factors. The first being suitable locations for the terminals. Second is based on amount of servers. The norm is 1 terminal per 4 servers during your busy period. Lastly, decide if one will be a dedicated cashier terminal.
  • What will be needed prior to installation?
Proper power outlet at each terminal location with a minimum of two outlets. Network wiring, if needed, for multiple terminal systems. Power at location for kitchen printer(s).
  • Do I need a Back Office Computer?
Our software does not need a back office computer but it would be an asset if your budget allows.
  • How will credit cards be processed?
You should have a hi-speed connection for credit cards and remote support. We will not offer any support for 3rd party credit card software, such as PCCharge. Around 80% of all calls involve issues surrounding this. We have a proprietary credit card engine that works seamlessly.
  • Will I need support for delivery service?
Software changes to accomodate venue to venue. The features needed for fine dining will differ from that of a pizza parlor.
  • Do I want the POS system to track employee hours?
Some people like to use their own timing keeping software. There is no wrong answer to this, it depends on your desired form tracking.
